Editing your template with the Ria Template Agent

The Ria Template Agent is a chat panel inside the Template Editor. You describe what you want to add, edit or remove, Ria proposes the changes, and you review each one before it touches your template.

Opening the Ria Template Agent

Open a template in the editor and click Ria Agent in the header. The panel opens with the heading Ria Template Agent and a BETA badge.

If the panel is empty, Ria greets you with a short prompt and a few example requests you can click to get started.

Asking Ria for a change

Type your request in plain English and press Send, or press Enter. Ria can:

• Add a new section, group or item.
• Edit existing content, rename a section, group or item, or change its settings.
• Remove a section, group or item.
• Set or change visibility conditions on a section, group or item.
• Explain what’s already in the template, or find where a piece of content lives.

Ria only uses merge tags and visibility conditions that exist for the template’s state, so what she proposes stays valid in your reports.

While Ria works, the panel shows her progress. To stop her mid-reply, click Stop.

Reviewing a proposal

Ria’s changes arrive as a proposal: a card listing each change she wants to make, marked Proposed. Expand a change to preview it before you decide:

• For new content, a preview of what will be added.
• For an edit, a Before and After view of the content.
• For a removal, the section, group or item being removed, with a note if its contents go too.
• For a settings or visibility change, the values before and after.

When a change involves conditional content, a Test conditions toggle lets you flip the conditions and see how the content reads in each case. Full preview opens the change in a larger view with sample data filled in.

Accepting, rejecting or dismissing

While a proposal is Proposed, you have three choices:

• Accept applies the change. When a proposal contains several changes, they apply together, all or nothing.
• Reject asks you for a brief reason, then sends it back to Ria so she can adjust and propose again.
• Dismiss drops the proposal without making a change and without feedback.

When you accept Ria’s first change, Curia starts a draft for you if one isn’t already open. Your changes stay in the draft until you click Publish changes, the same as any template edit you make by hand.

For a larger request, Ria proposes one set of changes at a time. She applies a batch once you accept it, then continues, so you review the work as it goes rather than in one block at the end.

FAQ

Does Ria change my template directly?

Only after you accept. Nothing changes while Ria is proposing. When you accept a proposal she applies it to your draft, not the published template, so new reports keep using the published template until you publish the draft.

Can I undo a change Ria made?

An accepted change is a normal draft edit. Edit or remove the content yourself, or click Discard in the header to throw away the whole draft and return to the published template.

Why won’t Ria remove a built-in section?

Ria only deletes content you’ve added. She can exclude a built-in item, which you can add back later, but she leaves built-in sections and groups in place.

I can’t see the Ria Agent button.

The Ria Template Agent is in beta and switched on per account, so it may not be enabled for yours yet.
