Finalising and downloading your report

How to generate a report from a review, edit the report draft, download it as Word, re-open the review, or reset the report.

The Finalise tab

The Finalise tab is where you generate and manage the report for a review.

Before the review is generated, the tab carries:

  • A validation summary of any incomplete or invalid fields that still need attention.
  • The Generate Report button - disabled until every required field is filled.
  • A list of every amendment request the reviewer flagged.

Generating the report

When every required field is complete:

  • Click Generate Report.
  • The review fields are locked to prevent further changes to the underlying data.
  • The report is generated from the published template with every merge tag replaced by the actual review data.

The page moves to the report draft editor so you can review and refine before download.

Editing the report draft

The report draft is fully editable. Make any final changes here:

  • Edit text directly.
  • Use the formatting toolbar for styling (bold, italic, lists, headings, tables).
  • Add or remove content as needed.

Make your edits here rather than in the downloaded Word document. Edits in Curia survive a regeneration; edits in a downloaded .docx don’t - if the review is later re-opened and the report is regenerated, the Word-side edits are lost.

Autosave

The report draft is autosaved every 30 seconds when there are unsaved changes.

Manual save

Click the overflow menu (three dots) on the right of the toolbar and choose Save to save immediately.

Downloading the report

Click Download Word to export the report as a .docx. The downloaded file uses every document setting from the template - logo placement, page numbers, page breaks, base font size, and so on. See Understanding your report template.

If there are unsaved edits when you click Download Word, they’re saved before the export starts.

Re-opening the review

To change the underlying review data after generating the report:

  • Click the overflow menu in the report toolbar.
  • Choose Re-open Review.
  • Confirm.

Overflow menu with Save, Re-open Review, and Reset Report

Re-opening:

  • Unlocks the review fields.
  • Discards the current report draft (edits to the generated report are lost).
  • Returns you to the standard review editing interface.

When you mark the review complete again, a fresh report is generated from the template using the updated review data.

If there are unsaved edits to the report when you click Re-open Review, a warning shows first.

Resetting the report

To regenerate the report from the template without re-opening the review - that is, to throw away report edits but keep the review data as-is:

  • Click the overflow menu in the report toolbar.
  • Choose Reset Report.
  • Confirm.

The report draft is regenerated fresh from the template with the current review data. The review fields stay locked.

This is useful when you’ve made extensive edits to the report and want to start over from the template output, or when the template has been updated and you want the report to reflect the latest version.
