Internal notes
Internal notes are a free-text scratchpad on each review. Anyone with access to the review can read and edit them, and they never appear in the report.
Use internal notes to capture reminders, questions, or observations while you work through a contract. They sit alongside the review and stay there for anyone on your team who opens the file later.
Opening the notes panel
The notes panel sits in the right column of the review page, next to the PDF viewer. Click Show notes to open it and Hide notes to close it again. You can also press the shortcut key n to toggle the panel, as long as your cursor isn’t in an input, a text area, or the image editor.
Type directly into the panel. Notes save with the rest of the review as you work, so there is no separate save button.
Copying notes out
To pull your notes into an email, a file note, or anywhere else, click Copy notes at the bottom of the panel. The full notes are placed on your clipboard, ready to paste.
On mobile
Internal notes are desktop only. On a phone or small tablet the panel and the Show notes button are both hidden.
FAQ
Who can see internal notes?
Anyone with access to the review. Notes are shared across the team, not private to the person who wrote them. They never appear in the report sent to the client.
Do internal notes stay after the review is complete?
Yes. They are saved with the review and remain available whenever the file is reopened.
